When you choose to install an eSIM, you will be prompted to install the eSIM using a QR code. Here are the steps on how to complete the installation process:
Note: An eSIM-compatible and carrier-unlocked device is required for the QR installation to be completed. You can refer to this guide to check: Is my device compatible with holiday.com's eSIM?
QR Code installation for Google Pixel
Please make sure to only scan the QR Code on the device where you want to install/use the eSIM. We recommend displaying the QR code on another device before proceeding with the steps below:
- Open Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs > Download a new eSIM. Scan your provided QR code and tap Download.
- Once the eSIM has been downloaded/installed, return to Settings and look for the holiday.com eSIM.
- Under the Access Point Names or APN field, type globaldata and save the change.
- Toggle ON the following settings: Use eSIM, Mobile data, and Roaming. Your device should automatically connect to a supported network upon arrival at your destination!
QR Code installation for Samsung Galaxy
Please make sure to only scan the QR Code on the device where you want to install/use the eSIM. We recommend displaying the QR code on another device before proceeding with the steps below:
- Open Settings > Connections > SIM Manager
- Tap Add Mobile Plan.
- Tap the Scan Carrier QR code button. Scan your QR code then. Tap Add.
- Once the download/installation is completed, return to Settings > Connections > SIM card manager. Under Preferred SIMs, tap Mobile Data and select your holiday.com eSIM.
- Next, go to Connections > Mobile networks and look for Access Point Names or APN. In the field, enter globaldata and save the change.
- On the same screen, toggle ON Data roaming. Your device should automatically connect to a supported network upon arrival in your destination country!
QR Code installation for iOS devices
Please make sure to only scan the QR Code on the device where you want to install/use the eSIM. We recommend displaying the QR code on another device before proceeding with the steps below:
- Open Settings > Cellular or Mobile Service > Add eSIM or Set Up Cellular/Mobile Service > Use QR Code.
- Scan the provided QR code, then tap Continue twice to start the installation. This may take a few minutes. Tap Done when it appears.
- On the Data Plan Labels screen, tap Secondary, then enter your preferred label (e.g., holiday.com eSIM) to name your new eSIM. Tap Continue.
- On the Default Line screen, select your Primary line. This ensures you’ll receive calls and texts through your regular SIM. Tap Continue.
- If you see the iMessage & FaceTime screen, select your Primary line, then tap Continue.
- On the Cellular Data screen, if you wish to use your holiday.com eSIM for data immediately, select the holiday.com eSIM. To avoid extra roaming charges, keep Allow Cellular Data Switching toggled OFF. Tap Continue.
- Now, go to Settings > Cellular or Mobile Service. Under SIMs, tap your holiday.com eSIM and ensure Turn On This Line is toggled ON.
- Toggle Data Roaming ON. Your device should automatically connect to a supported network upon arriving at your destination!
