As long as your device is compatible with eSIMs and carrier-unlocked, you should be able to set up holiday.com’s with no issues. Note that devices originating from mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau do not support eSIMs. If you are unsure, please check with your device manufacturer.
Here’s how to check if your device is eSIM-compatible:
iPhone
- Tap Settings → General → About. Scroll down to Available SIM (iOS 15 or later) or Digital SIM (below iOS 15). Look for an EID. If available, you can install an eSIM on your device.
- Then, on the same page, look for Network Provider Lock. If it shows “No SIM restrictions,” your device is carrier-unlocked, and you can use it with holiday.com's eSIM. If it shows anything else, you’ll need to contact your carrier to request for your device to be unlocked.
Samsung
- Tap Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > Add SIM. If you see the option to Download a new eSIM, your device is eSIM-compatible.
- Next, to verify if your device is carrier-unlocked, you can try either of these steps.
- Use a different SIM card. If you have a spare SIM card from another carrier, try turning off your phone and replacing your SIM card. After you turn your phone back on, check if you’re able to send a text or make a call. If you’re unable to, or see a message saying “SIM card not supported,” you’ll have to contact your carrier to request an unlock.
- Contact your carrier. Get in touch with your mobile carrier for a definite answer on whether your device is carrier-locked. If it is indeed carrier-locked, your carrier will be able to help unlock your device.
Google Pixel
